Simon Hackett Old Vine Grenache, McLaren Vale, Australia 2004
September 2, 2008 | In WINE REVIEWS | 1 Comment
Coming from the cooler McLaren Vale in South Australia, this Grenache comes from vines at least 30 years old, and shows great concentration of red fruit; strawberries, cherries, pomengrantes and loads of smoke- the kind of wine you can’t stop swirling and sniffing. On the palate this wine is medium weight, with a nice acidity and a good sappy finish. Try this alongside burgers or bbq. 14% Alcohol. – A great value at $14 Astor Wines

What happened to this awesome wine? Astor Wines in NYC had it for a long time but it seems to have disappeared. Is a new vintage coming out anytime soon?
