<description>I stumbled upon this review web-searching for Anima Negra...in my quest to secure a case or two.

You&#039;ve really nailed it. That is, despite the reputation of Mallorca for being jet-set land, or in defiance of it - they produce some splendid wine which is utterly unique.

While traversing Spain in the Spring of 2009, we routinely saw AN or AN/2 being served, being featured prominently or just being visible on shelves of tapas joints and restaurants. When hooking up with friends, natives of Spain, their first choice was often one or another AN. We started to &quot;get it&quot; after the third or fourth time!

I always struggle to understand the rules of distribution, and seek ways to work around them - but being on the West coast imparts a degree of difficulty procuring AN. We are in a sea of Napa wines - sadly the majority of them are all prepared the same way with the same grapes, in the same barrels, and as a result they bore me to stupification.

Napa seems to be pricing themselves out of business in this economy given the lack of unique flavor, so I find the 20 dollar range (AN/2 range )of Spanish wines to be a fantastic alternative.....but I digress.

Thank you for your excellent review.
