Scala Dei Prior Crianza 2001
September 26, 2008 | In WINE REVIEWS | No Comments
A bargain Priorat? We at The UnCorker were skeptical, but this is the real deal. Predomimantly Grenache, with a bit of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is still tightly wound, but with air it unfolds into an aromatic wine with real terroir. Dark chunky fruit, menthol, mint and wet stone leads into a rich chocolate finish. We were astonished by how inexpensive this gem was. You can still pick it up online for under $25. A perfect discovery for the fall.
